From ear to ear
To wake up with a smile without a doubt, to burst grin giggle bliss skip jump sing and shout. Let's get happy. - The Cure, Doing The Unstuck

Smile- a facial expression indicating pleasure or amusement with the corners of the mouth turned up.
Grin- to smile broadly, showing the teeth.
Realized how knowledge is often taken for granted. Such as simple things like 'is a tomato a vegetable or fruit?' (i still say fruit...*glare*)
I've been posing the question of "What is the main difference between a smile and a grin" to people for the past week or so... I mean, I just assumed that a grin was a bigger, flashier and teethy smile, but it's interesting taking in the different perceptions. A few think that it's the other way around and that a SMILE should be the one showing the teeth, whereas some think it's more of the meaning behind it- to smile=contentment, to grin=cheekiness.
It is rather subjective, isn't it....I mean, looking at the photos, Steve is therefore....grinning? And if from right-left (faz-me) the teeth-showing gets wider....does that mean me and clara are grinning, or smiling? Waitaminute...in that case, does that also mean I almost never smile coz I always show my teeth?
Innntresssting concept.....
