Exhibitions & Explosions

Same old song, just a drop of water in an endless sea. All we do, crumbles to the ground though we refuse to see, dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind. - Kansas, Dust In The Wind

Tomorrow evening 5.30 -7. Free wine and snacky's. I think someone mentioned getting high last night. I'm quite keen. I do not approve of wine bottle stealage though....FAZ!

Happy 25th of October birthday to Schteve, Joop and Denise. All 3 in different parts of the globe but important enough to be remembered by a Lin, which is a big deal...considering her database only stores less than 10 birthdates...

Mexican prawns at Juanita's, Kensington is goodstuff.

Hooray for the re-birth of Martin's blog. Mussle Rock and horse in transition... I am still thinking... I think I need to google it.

We were talking about movies last night. Somebody let me know if they remember an old film featuring a very young Tom Hanks chasing after a mouse in an old run-down house. Again, I could google it...just thought i'd ask first. Damn...I've forgotten the fellow's name (alongside Helen Hunt in Twister) again. Something about him appearing in the Simpsons...or was that to do with the guy in MouseHunt. I'm confused.
(By the way guys, did they charge us for 2 jugs of Sangria?)

Something else I wish to clarify. Graham B said flour explodes when blown up (airborne) as the particles somehow mix with the right amount of Nitrogen and Oxygen to form a *kaboom*. It would all be pretty cool, but curiosity and a bit of scepticism kicked in after talking about it last night and I just did some further research....Established that a mild source of heat is required for this to happen. As his story was set in a birthday party scenario (a game involving 2 people blowing corn flour at each other and it blowing up in their faces)... I assume that there was probably a recently extinguished match or candle involved somewhere along the way.

"Almost all organic material or un-oxidized metal, when in a dust cloud, will ignite when a heat source (approximately the temperature of a recently extinguished match will do) is present. Food dusts such as sugar, starch, flour, and cocoa are also major causes of dust explosions."

Hmmm... should have tested it last night at Clara's. :)
